Choosing the right bags, and the stuff to fill them with can play a big role in how much you enjoy your trip. We have put together this list of recommendations of what we use (or a newer/similar model) for you to consider as you get ready to head to Ireland. All of the items on this page are things we bring, or have brought, with us to Ireland. Our hope is that by using some of the items on this list we can make preparing for your trip easy, and the trip itself more enjoyable. Happy travels!

Bags & Packing Aids

This carry on size suitcase is perfect if you need want to avoid lost luggage or the line at baggage claim. You can easily fit 2 of these in the boot of the small rental cars in Ireland

The Osprey Porter 46 is perfect if your itinerary involves a lot of train travel or long walks to accommodations. This is my top pick for a travel bag if you don’t mind a backpack.

If you need something a little bigger than a carry on, this suitcase will fit all your stuff without adding too much weight. Perfect for those wanting to do some shopping in Ireland.

The eBags Hyper-Lite Packing Cubes are not the cheapest packing cubes on the market, but they are our favorite set. They are designed to fit in a 22" suitcase, and won't add much weight to your bag.

If you are looking for a way to add some extra space in your luggage, compression bags are the way to do it. These are great for packing bulkier items like coats that take up a lot of room in a suitcase. If you do use the bags be mindful your bag does not get too heavy.

Few things are more annoying in travel than getting to the airport and finding out you have to pay an overweight bag fee. Carrying a luggage scale might save you some money.

Electronics

If you need a power bank that will charge your phone, camera, or tablet a couple times throughout the day look no further. Its size and power makes this Anker power bank the perfect bank for your day bag.

While the big bank is useful, this bank will charge your phone once. If you want something that is small, but will fully charge your phone look no further than this one.

The Bestek Travel Adaptor is a great solution is you need multiple plugs and a power adaptor. There are plugs to charge a couple devices at the same time, great for overnight charging.

The Canon SL2 is the perfect camera if you want the ability to use multiple lenses without carrying around a bulky camera body. We have taken this camera to Ireland once, and can't wait to use it on our next trip!

If you are looking for a camera that takes DSLR quality pictures without the size, then the Canon G7x ii is a great camera. In addition to its numerous manually settings, the flip out screen makes it perfect for selfies and vlogging on the go.

Not bringing a ton of electronics with you? Then this plug adaptor is a smaller solution to your power needs. Make sure to check the voltage on your device because this is not a power converter.

Other Helpful Items

These bags are great for travel. They fold up flat and can be used as a grocery bag for your run to Tesco, or as a beach bag during your day out on the Wild Atlantic Way.

When you only pack in a carry on bag, you don't have enough room for 10 days worth of clothes. These packets are made for doing laundry in a sink which makes them ideal for travel.

If you are going to do laundry in your B&B room sink, you will need a way to dry it. This clothesline folds into a small pouch, but is long enough to hang several clothing items at a time.

You probably don't need half the stuff in my wallet when you are traveling, so try downsizing to this one. The quality and the price are excellent, and it has enough pockets for everything you will need on the road.

If you downsize my wallet when for your trip, you might want to use these money clips for bills. This set is great because it's cheap, and you can have one for Euro and another for Pounds to stay organized during your trip.

Both the Euro and the Pound have more coins than we do in the States. Having one of these pouches (or one for each currency) saves you from have a pocket full of loose change.
