IT’S PRIME DAY!!! Ok, the all caps yelling may be a little over the top, who doesn’t love a great deal? If you do not know what Prime Day is, the best way I can describe it is a Black Friday sale on Amazon for Prime members. If you are not a Prime member, you can click here to check out the useful benefits and sign up. Some of the deals last a long time, and other deals only last a few hours. This means you have to be quick if you want to find a good deal on an item before it runs out stock.
If you are a savvy Amazon user you already knew this and have been looking forward to some of the deals for weeks. If you are not one of those people, don’t worry! There are still plenty of great deals to be had on Prime Day even if today is the first day you have looked through the pages and pages of items on sale.
Prime Day is a great time to purchase those items for your trip, especially if it is coming up in the next couple weeks. This morning I did a lot of the heavy lifting for you. I looked through several categories of sales and found what I believe to be five of the top deals on things you might need to head to Ireland. It is at this point that I must give you a disclaimer. Usually I only post about products and services Corry or I own or have used in the past. I do not own all of the products I have listed below. I did however choose products from brands for which I have high brand loyalty.
Please be aware that the item may not be on sale when you click through the link and all sales end by July 16, 2019. If you find a great deal on something you need, I would not wait to purchase it. So, in no particular order, here are five great deals you can find on Prime Day:
Samonsite Centric Expandable Hardside Luggage Set (20”/24”) - I have been a huge fan of Samsonite ever since I was given a luggage set over 10 years ago (I still use both pieces of my set). Corry and I both use Samsonite cases, and we could not be happier with them. The quality is second to none, and with this set you can choose whether or not you want to carry your suitcase on the plane or check your bag!
eBags Classic Packing Cubes - 6pc Value Set - I have been using eBags packing cubes for a little over two years, and they make my life on the road so much easier. They keep my bag nice and organized so I know exactly where to find the thing I need. While I use the Hyper-Lite version of these packing cubes, the classic cubes are made with the same quality material that will stand up to the rigors of a couple weeks in Ireland!
Sony Bluetooth Over the Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones - On a recent trip I finally broke down and bought a pair of noise cancelling headphones, and boy do I regret not buying a pair sooner. They made the flight much more enjoyable. I would put noise canceling headphones in the “never leave for Ireland without them” category. I splurged a bit and bought a pair of Bose QCIIs, but Sony has a solid reputation for making noise cancelling headphones, and you can’t go wrong for $89.
Marmot Tempo Men’s Softshell Jacket (Women’s Version) - A solid softshell jacket is something I never leave out of my bag. It will keep you warm on windy coastal walks, and will keep you dry in light rain if you do not have a rain jacket or umbrella handy. If you care about sticking out, I would stick to a neutral color. A bright color may make you stand out as a tourist.
Bestek Voltage Converter - Bestek has been my go-to voltage converter and plug adaptor on my last couple trips. This is a smaller version of the one I carry, but it will get the job done if all you have to do is charge your camera battery and a couple phones every night. The only drawback I have found is that mine is pretty loud, so I would make sure you charge your devices before you go to sleep or it will be like sleeping with a white noise machine.
I hope those items check some things off your shopping list! There are many more deals to be had this Prime Day, so I would spend some time looking through the deals while you are watching TV tonight. If you find any other deals you think people will want to know about, please leave them down in the comments for everybody to see.
Happy Travels!
